Alternative colours

I am not a fan of wedding dresses or wedding dress shopping in general. Its a second marriage for both of us and will probably be happening in a hotel. Not that that would put me off having a dress if only I could find something different!  I am not traditional at all so am looking for something very different, just wondering what people thought about a navy palazzo pant style jumpsuit. Do you think wedding guests would think how strange ๐Ÿค”. Obvs i would dress it up with enormous glittery wedges and some lovely flowers plus different sized pearl bobby pins in my hair. There will only be around 20 - 25 guests during the day and we haven't even decided if we are having an evening party so they would be close family and friends who know i am not your average bridey type ๐Ÿ˜‚

Sounds lovely to me. One of my wedding guests wore a burgundy jumpsuit with super sparkly shoes and she looked gorgeous.

Don't worry about what your guests might think. So long as you look and feel comfy and happy, they have nothing to complain about!
  • We are having a private ceremony, with only two witnesses. I am not having a traditional dress in any way. This is my dress on the model (not me)...

I say go for what you're comfortable and happy in!xx
  • Wear whatever you like, whatever flatters you and makes you happy.  I personally love a bride in colour, and pantsuits are all the rage right now.

If you have your heart set on a pantsuit, be sure to try lots on.  I think that they size/ cut them oddly. I'm very skinny with no bum/ curves, but I've yet to find one that looks right on me (was thinking of wearing one to a wedding). I'm quite short, but still, if I find one where the legs are long enough, the bodice seems to be way too big. If the bodices fit, the legs ride up too short. If the waist tucks in nicely, the bum area/front area seem to grab in embarrassing ways!  Maybe it's just me though!

I absolutely love my dress and wouldn't change it for anything, but am also mildly disappointed in myself that it ISN'T a coloured dress ๐Ÿ˜‚. I was so determined I wanted something different and then totally fell in love with a massive ivory princess dress doh!
But the point is, I think colourful dresses are awesome and whatever you do, wear something you feel comfortable and beautiful in, and don't worry about other people's expectations. There's no dress in the world that litrrally everybody will look at and think is perfect and beautiful, so do what YOU want :)

I have sent for two anyway, one navy and one silver grey so๐Ÿคž
  • I LOVE the idea of what you want to wear. I had a yellow and black dress and it was my first wedding. I saw it's your day wear what you want!!

The navy one, from boden, arrived yesterday and is rather lovely, will be good to keep anyway if I change my mind. It didn't help much when my step daughter sent us a picture of something she was thinking of wearing... a long navy lace top dress ๐Ÿคฃ, my fiancee told her it was a bit over the top for a guest๐Ÿ˜ he doesn't know what in am considering but knows it won't be standard bridal wear. He has chosen a navy based shirt and waistcoat combo all on his own so maybe he knows my style better than I think! Cool picture and dress by the way, where was the lighthouse?

Ah right, I know it well. In fact a work colleague of ours got married there last year. Good choice ๐Ÿ˜
