Non-traditional bridesmaids- how to ask?!

So after many months deliberation I think I've decided not to have any 'official' bridesmaids, to cut a long story short I don't have a best friend and have too many close friends to have them all & no 1, 2 or 3 of them stand out as closer than the others. I want them all to be involved in the wedding more than just your average guest so am hoping they'll all agree to be non-traditional bridesmaids and help with things like the hen do, getting ready with me on the morning, helping me with my dress in the loo (!) all that stuff & in return I want to kind of honour them with some kind of corsage/bracelet to wear on the day.

Anyway back to the point of the thread...I want to send them a poem to ask them & explain but I can't find anything on the internet at all! Basically want it to cover the fact that I'm lucky enough to have a lot of close friends but can't have them all as bridesmaids, that I won't be expecting them to wear matching dresses & that they are completely free to help as much or as little as they pressure at all basically! & that I'll be sorting something like a corsage/bracelet to wear on the day...anyone out there good with words & can help me out?!

Also trying to think of a name for it all to give it a bit of a cheesy group name lol saw bridal brigade online but felt it sounded a bit American? Also saw Team Bride which I thought was quite cute? or maybe bridal team? dunno...again any help would be great!!

I like the idea of Team Bride! I think that's quite fun. I will have a think about a poem... it's a tough one!

    I've had a drink, how about something like this;

I've known some of you for many years

and when it comes down to it you're all my dears

but picking couple of you is too difficult to decide

you're all my superheroes so let's try Team Bride!

I'll make you a badge, so you feel special too

and maybe, just maybe, you can help me to the loo?

and when it comes to helping me celebrate before

you can organise the hen do, just keep me away from the law

you're all so special and I want you all there

to help me with my dress and put pins in my hair

and when I go to walk down the aisle

it would mean the world to me to see you at the altar, and seeing you smile.

  • Wow that was amazing! You can come read at my wedding!! image

  • Think I've cracked it...only taken me the last hr! Here it is, let me know what you think:

4th July 2015 is a big day in my life

    XXXX & I will say 'I do' & become husband & wife

As the day draws closers it's time to decide

Who should be there on the day, by my side

I've known some of you for many years & some only a few

But all of you have shown you'll always be there if I need you

Trying to pick a couple of you to be bridesmaids was too hard to decide

You're all special to me so lets try 'Team Bride'

I won't force you into a dress, you can wear whatever you like best

But I'll sort you a little something to show you're no ordinary guest

I won't be a Bridezilla always expecting you to be free

But I might need you to hold my dress while I peeimage

Help as much or as little as you want/can

No pressure at all, over the next year as I plan image

  • added an extra line coz thought it ended a bit abrupt...

I just want each of you to know you're special to me

& to honour you all as I become Mrs Bailey!
