Glastonbury town

Hello all

We've decided to honeymoon in the UK in Glastonbury.

Having been for many years to the festival, we have never stopped to look around the town and the gorgeous surrounding area, so are using this opportunity!

There are loads of B&B's which would actually suit us, but does anybody know of a particular hotel/B&B that they found to be special or romantic and suitable for a honeymoon?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Sharon

    Hi there,

I used to live in Somerset and did my A Levels in Street which is a stone's throw from Glasto!

Unfortunately as I was a skint teenager at the time who wasn't really looking I can't recall any particular hotels in Glastonbury itself.

BUT if you're after somewhere with the real WOW factor in the general area I'd have to recommend Charlton House in Shepton Mallet (about 8 miles from Glastonbury). It's beautiful. One of their rooms has an amazing carved four poster bed. And there is a spa there as well. Here is the site:-

There are some lovely hotels that I know of in Wells (again just a few miles from Glastonbury itself).

Some friends of mine had their First Night after their wedding in the Swan and said it was lovely:-

I've also heard good things about The Ancient Gatehouse (also in Wells):-

I've stayed in the Bear in Street when I've gone to the carnival. That's really nice. I can't find a website for them but the telephone number is 0870 3305232 . It's very nice and Street is only about a mile away from Glastonbury.

I hope that's helped and have a wonderful time!!!

Have a look at No.3 (or Number 3), it's a lovely little hotel in Glasto. My mate got married in the town a couple of years ago and stayed there. You can always google hotels in glastonbury for more ideas. I love the idea of honeymooning in the uk, we're going to a cottage in the Peaks less than an hours' drive away from us - it means we can leave the day after the wedding and spend the week chilling and splashing about in our private poolhouse! I'm going to bring my wedding dress too and get some fab DIY Trash the Dress shots on the peaks! S x
