Yep it will all seem fine after that!

If it'll make you smile your welcome to have a laugh at my expense...I had two planet sized spots on my chin at the end of last week, these have now moved upwards to either side of the bridge of my nose so I now have what looks like a wierd, painful, piercing through the top of my nose! If that doesnt make you laugh Nothing will!!! image

Have a nice relaxed night! xx

Well I'm having a bit of a melt down....down to money really got a letter from my bank telling me I'm ver drawn image only a little but I've got lots of things that have been returned and the money not gone back in and I've got things I bought yesterday still to come out image in such a tizz over it! Trying everything I can to get some extra pennies but this month is just reallly tough and feeling really stressed about it. My parents have also told us that the ??500 they were going to give us towards the wedding isn't likely to be available so we are going to have to pay it, at least for now...and that along with our final payment is due n 4 weeks....awesome.

I know it will be easier and I will have more money in my account in a few days I just hate not having this control and being stuck with finances.....looks like its a stressful week all round!

Oh dear - manfaw I now have a 1 in my ticker and now understand the panic that that single little number creates!!!!!

Its suddenly dawned on me theres only about 7 1/2 weeks to W-day and before then we have:

    This weekend,

    • Sat - Cake prep with MIL then our good friends HAG night
    • Sun - Cake baking with MIL, then finishing Decorations for reception with MOH

    Next weekend,

    • Thurs - Shopping for MOH shoes with MOH
    •  Fri - My Birthday ( image )
    • Sat - Good friends wedding
    • Sun - h2b taking me out for my bday

    Following weekend,

    • Thurs - Second Dress fitting
    • Sat - Another set of friends wedding

This is going to take us to roughly 5 weeks before our wedding!!!!!!!!!!  image And somewhere in there is my, still as-yet-unknown-date, Hen night!!!!! Not to mention I STILL keep adding to my DIY list!!!! (I'm a class A idiot and glutton for punishment - but everything is just so pretty I HAVE to incorporate it all somehow!!!image )

    AAARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    PANIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you feel better now you've got that out in the air Mandy? ;o) that sounds like quite a busy diary!! Having said that...there's always time for cake making!!

I have now finally got my hen night dress....didn't get the Jane Norman one in the end got  a similar one from Littlewoods. My bank balance has slightly recovered, enough at least to see me to pay day this week so thats a huge relief!

I'm at the 7 weeks and 2 days count down....where n earth has that time gone?! 2 and a bit weeks until my first hen do, then the next weekend is my bridal shower, then it's h2bs birthday and before you know it we are in November!!

might be a good idea to get some shoes for the wedding around about now.... I keep changing my mind, i will post pics so you lovelies can help me decide!

as you can see i'm going for Silver shoes the boys all have siver ties and our daughter has little silver glitter ballet pumps with a bow on the toe.

the first pair are really glittery and more silver than they look, I haven't tried any on yet but what do you think? My dress is tea length, white with black sash so they will be seen!

  • Ooo they are all pretty! The middle ones are my favourite image

I'm feeling very excited because been discussing hen do plans with my MOH today & I can't wait now, it's a week on Saturday so I'm hoping this next week goes quickly!
  • abi2889abi2889 Posts: 486

bride2be2411 I think they're my favourites too and at £40 they're quite reasonable! I do love sparkly shoes!

Do you know much about your hen party or are you like some of us and being left completely in the dark?!

  • What a bargain! They are lovey.

We are going to Birmingham to do a cocktail master class & then clubbing after. I think they have a few surprises lined up though image
  • mandy503mandy503 Posts: 2,066

Abi: definatly the second ones! They're fab!

Bride2be: a cocktail class would be my idea of heaven! I still have no idea when or what mine is!!!

  • manfawmanfaw Posts: 2,756

Abi I love the last pair but I love high heels!

Well I had my dress fitting and the dress fits!  I am not allowed to lose or gain any weight, but I defo want to tone some bits up!  So I dont have to pay for any alterations but I do have to buy new knickers as white knickers show through the dress.... image

I had my make up trail on Monday which I am IN LOVE WITH!  I looked so glamourous and everyone I have shown has loved it!

And last but not least I did my boudior shoot yesterday.... EEEK!   It was fun and worth doing I felt amazing afterwards I just hope the pics are worth the money!

  • I am very excited about it, I love cocktails image

That's great news manfaw! My make up trial isn't until the 1st weekend of Nov but hoping I'm pleased with how it looks because doesn't leave a lot of time to find someone else :/
  • manfawmanfaw Posts: 2,756

I am sure it will be fine, I have gone for something that isnt "bride" like at all so I think my MUA was really surprised, once she had finished we made a few tweaks and it was perfect.

All I would say is be honest and dont back down if you're not happy!

  • abi2889abi2889 Posts: 486
Manfaw I really like those too but I'm not sure if they would make me taller than h2b which he would not be impressed with lol!

Going shopping Monday so ill try them all on and report back! I would also love a boudoir shoot just don't know that I could muster up the courage to book something like that, I'd just wuss out!

Cocktail making would be so much fun!! I like he idea of doing something as well as going out!

Almost got all our rsvps back now think we are just waiting for 3 others so yay!

What is everyone doing or their table plan? I've bought a nice big Blake square photo frame (black white and silver colour scheme) but I can't think of an interesting way to decorate or display it all. Just looks a bit boring with printed names in the room layout.....anyone with ideas?
  • mandy503mandy503 Posts: 2,066

How about something like this - print out pictures of your guests and put their table number/name next to them?

or a picture of your table names ie, London next to a picture of the London skyline

or something a little more vintagey, but change it to match your colours?

Or could you use the frame for something else and go down the new Escort Cards route? You have a table with all your guests names attached to an item and on the card with their name is their table number? Then they can always just choose which seat at the table they sit so you dont have to worry about place names too?

This one is particualy cool as you'll have to drink lots of wine to get all the corks 1st! imageimage

  • abi2889abi2889 Posts: 486

ooooo I really like the vintagey gift tag type one! I like the escort card idea too and i thought i could tack the name cards to the glass of the frame so i'ts still used, as I've only got 40 guests they should all fit.

Otherwise i thought about getting some really glittery card to use as backing and then do the names on the squares for each table?

does it matter if the squares aren't layed out like the tables in the room? I never thought this table plan could have so many options!!

  • mandy503mandy503 Posts: 2,066

No, they dont need to placed out in the same way as the room, so long as the numbers are easily seen on both the table plan and the tables themselves it'll be fine!

I think the glittery card sounds awesome, and you could still incorporate the tag idea, instead of squares if ya wanted?

You could have Shiny Black Tags, with lovely satin ribbon out the top, and then layer on top a white piece of card (you can get some lovely pearlised card on ebay really cheap and it looks fab - just gives it that really stylish finish!) with the names printed on. (or you could get someone with good handwriting to write them on in calligraphy?)

So it would be - Names on white card, stuck on Black card shaped like tag, on the glittery silver backing card!

(I think I may have put a bit too much thought into this! Oops!image )

We want pictures once its done!! image

I dont know whether to bother with a table plan? We only have about 20 guests and we're all round one big table - but I feel like I'm missing out on something else I could make if I dont do one!image  Hmmm what to do, what to do???

  • manfawmanfaw Posts: 2,756

Urgh the table plan nightmare has begun in our house we've argued already image  Still I am the one who has to make it so even if I am not happy once its printed its done.

We're going with boring, square cards with people lists - I am not very artistic!

  • abi2889abi2889 Posts: 486
I have come up with a creation!! It's a mix of all of them...I have made little heart shapes with each persons name on and the table number and pegged the with little pegs I had to nice black ribbon I've attached across the glass, I have 5 tales so 5 ows of ribbon, and they all fit! I've tried it jut with white card for background but I'm gong o get some super sparkly stuff and put hat in the frame so it will be behind the glass, with the songs of ribbon and names in front.

I have pictures just need to get the on here!

I have to sy the pegs make it so easy to tweak who sits where as I can just unpeg and move (obviously before I write the final table numbers on the hearts).

I was so pleased, it looks pretty but simple.....h2b is slightly less enthusiastic his response when I ask what he thought of where everyone was sitting was....yeah cool. Men!

Men! image (nearset smily I could get to blowing a rarsberry!)

But it sounds really lovely! I think I will have to do a table plan - just not sure what style to go for!image

  • abi2889abi2889 Posts: 486

    ok so picture....

    image

As it stands at the moment i could just change the background card and we done but i think i will add a little more to it....as probably redo the hearts on card as they are just on paper at the moment!

Glad I redid the table plan, I haven't got to make an awful lot of things so glad I can have an "I made that!" moment! image

  • mandy503mandy503 Posts: 2,066

It looks great! Once you have the silver backround its gonna be awesome! I would deffo look to ebay for 'posh' white card tho to give it that polished finish! (Are you having a sweetheart table just for the two of you? I love that idea, gives you a lovely chance just to take some time with each other to really absorb the day!)

I'm kinda stuck for ideas as to what to do for mine now, we are having one long rectangle table with us all round it, so escort cards wouldnt work, I dont really need one, I just want one!image . Any inspiring ideas?

  • mandy503mandy503 Posts: 2,066

ok so its only been 20 mins since my last post - but google and a slight lightbulb moment, and I have decided on my table plan!image

I've ordered a plain wooden framed mirror from ebay for bout £6 and am going to paint it metalic blue, and add a few of my leftover roses to the corners, then do a basic shape of our table in the center with the names on label shapes to match our other staitionary in nice crisp white paper, or I might see if I can get a silver (non permanant) marker and draw it onto the glass!

I'll hav a play when I get the frame sorted! (I think it'll look nice to pop a photo in the center afterwards too!)  image

    Ooo more DIY to do!!imageimage

Mandy I love it! You can get white pens on confetti.co.uk that write on glass that are removable! That might work?

I've got some black and white card that is black one side and white the other so I could do the hearts on that so if they move you see both colours and then the sparkly glitter card as background! I don't think I've been so excited about a table plan lol!

Ooo, thanks for the pen tip! I'll check it out!

The black and white card sounds brilliant - you could even write your names and date on the back of the names so that would be a surprise when people take them off.

    Table plans...who knew!image

Mandy that last line made me giggle! Really made me think of the Disney film Tangled (its on a lot in our house!) when the hero says "frying pans.....who knew?!" Totally unrelated but thought I'd share!!

On another note, I got my shoes today!!!! Whoop! They are so lovely and very sparkly! I went for the second pair.....from Schuh the last pair in my size too! My h2b was impressed I found them so quick but when it comes to shoes I'm like a magpie I can beeline for sparkles like nobodies business!

Lots checked off the to do list today, gave notice at last, sent off my passport in my married name (now glad I practiced my new signature as I had to sign it with that!) also go h2bs tie and decided on all our official wording for our ceremony! Day 2 of operation wedding planning blitz tomorrow then back to work Wednesday when in theory I should be well on the way to being complete!
