    Hiya Michelle

My fiance and I are getting wed sept 2010 when is best time to start planning our honeymoon? We are looking at combining visitng NYC for 3 or so days with 7 days in Hawaii.

Any hints or tips you can offer?
  • Hiya Michelle,

I'm getting married in August and we're about to book our honeymoon to Singapore and Bali.

Can you recommend Ubud in Bali? have you been there?

  • Hello , the best time will be after September 2009 as the flights are officially on sale 11 months in advance.

With regards to hawaii it depends on what type of resort you want as the islands are very different. What budget did you have in mind ?

China is probably a bit too far for your first holiday. I would suggest something a little closer to home such as Italy as the weather is great in July and the countryside fantastic.
  • Do you know of a good tour company we can use whilst on honeymoon in Sri Lanka? I am not sure if the £500 for 3 days touring is a bit steep, that includes food, hotels, guides, car and enterance to all places in Kandy, elephant orphange and a day on safari. Thanks in advance! Andrea

Hi Andrea, have you already booked your Holiday?

Most tour Operators will offer better tours before you travel rather than when you arrive. You will be guaranteed availability and kow what money you have left to spend. You can choose a good slection of tours to include the Elephant Orphanage , Dambulla, Yala National Parks , Temples etc.

As a Travel Agent we only deal with UK Tour Operators with ABTA/ATOL bonding.

Hi we're getting married 4th september 2010 - thinking some where hot, idyllic, beaches maybe the usual suspects such as mauritius or maldives BUT budget is very limited - only 2000 -2500 tops for both of us! Is there any chance we could manage this type of destination in this budget? Any recommendations for acheiving our budget or any suggestions for alternatives? Thanks so much!

ballerina75, I've been to Ubud, and it is awesome! Loved it. This was in 1998 though! Hopefully it hasn't changed much.

Can you recommend any hotels in the dominican rep/cuba (that area of the world) for April 2010?

We did originally want to go to mexico, but with h2b working in a bit of an unstable industry at the moment (distribution) we don't want to spend too much in case he gets made redundant. We would like an all inclusive resort, maximum budget of £2500.

    Thanks x

Other ideas if you prefer to venture further afield would be America. Good weather , plenty to see and do and great beaches in California.

Its best to avoid the Caribbean and Florida as June- November is Hurricane Season although Aruba, caribbean is off the hurricane belt.

It all depends on your budget and what sort of holiday you want. if you fancy touring then as mentioned before Italy would be grat . Consider Sorrento , the resorts surrounding are great and rail travel along the coast is very good value.

We are getting married October 2010 and want to go to Cuba, we would like to do a twin city break with one being Havana and can you suggest another place on the beach but with loads of different things to do as h2b gets bored easily! Also can we hire cars over there easily so we can go and explore ourselves???

Hi this is certainly within budget for September but you may have to compromise on the standard of Hotel as the flights take up a large part of the holiday. I can get exact quotes for you if you like. just drop me an e mail to [email protected] and I can get quotes for you.

The Big Island is great for scuba diving and its one of the least commercialised islands.

New York can be pricey on Hotels approx £100 per person per night is average but we do get special offers .

There are some lower prices options in Mauritius that may be within budget. The prices for 2010 are not out yet and rates can change from year to year. I am sure you would get a week on Mauritius or Maldives this time of year. Sri Lanka is also possible as the costs are very low there and you get higher grade of Hotels.

I would really need to look into this in more depth to get you a proper quote.

There is no reason why Mexico should be more expensive than the Dominican Republic. There are lots of nice resorts south of Cancun which are great value and can give you some good cultural options as well (visiting Mayan ruins etc..). Here are some mexico hotels for you that should be within budget:-

There is a place called Trinidad (the town rather than the caribbean country) on the south coast which is really nice. It's a UNESCO world heritage site as well so lots of beauty and culture

The slight challenge is that going in the winter is going to cost a bit as short haul isn't really an option (unless you want a white honeymoon in the alps etc..). You could try somewhere like Egypt or Morrocco which are still hot and not too far away.

One way to reduce the cost on a long haul winter sun honeymoon is perhaps to use a gift list service where people contribute to the honeymoon rather than buying you boring salt and pepper shakers, duvet covers etc..

    For more details see:- www.holidaysplease.co.uk/giftlist

Ok the best thing is to stay alert for special offers in that case and bide your time. Tour operators are bringing out some very good ones at the moment. If you drop me an e mail then I will put you on my list of people who I e mail each month with the best honeymoon offers I have found. it's [email protected]

    Hi

We're getting married in March 2010 and have our hearts set on the Maldives. We'd love to go fo two weeks to an island with very little activity. Budget wise we're looking at around £5000 but if we could do it cheaper it would be a bonus!

    Thanks

Hi , With a budget of £5000 you will be able to get a really nice Honeymoon. The best value isalnd is Biyadhoo , its small, fairly basic but gets great reviews and is excellent for water sports/ Scuba diving. This is 3* standard. Most of the other smaller, quiet islands are more upmarket. have a look at Coco Palm Dhuni Kholi, Komandoo, Velassaru, Veligandu. The Sheraton Full Moon is also great value nut a bit busier. I can get an exact quote for you if you would like to e mail me as [email protected]

I can have a proper look and get quotes for you.

    Cheers Michelle
  • We would really like to go tto Jamaica for our June 2010 honeymoon. We would like to stay in an adults only resort. We have seen Sandals but it can be a bit expensive. Any other ideas?

Hello , have a look at Sandals Inn , its a smaller Hotel , more boutique and you get to use all the other Sandals Hotels in Jamaica.

There are not many adults only hotels in Jamaica. This is the best I can think of.

I have just found one called Couples. Is it well rated?

I havent had any clients stay there that I can think of. The brand is very good in general and they have Couple in many Caribbean islands. I would say as good as Sandals but hopefully cheaper. I would really need to check Tour Operators costs for a proper quote. Feel free to e mail me on [email protected] and I can have a good look for you.

    Cheers Michelle.
