Andipink and the Big Day - 3rd May

Such a fabulous day!! I was at the hairdresser's at 8am, she was on time but the receptionisy forgot about the earlier than usual opening and didn't turn up until 8.30. I stayed calm, nothing I could do about it and I had time on my side. The clients there commented on my relaxed state but hey, everything was in hand - I planned it, didn't I?! When I got to my parents' house at 11am, I was not in the least bit nervous, thoroughly over-excited though!! The house was chockful- parents, aunts from Barbados, 4 bridesmaids plus baby niece, make-up artist, photographer and videographer. The atmosphere was great because the sun was shining. My brothers arrived to collect their buttonholes and orders of service and geed me up, just like when we were kids. My twin got a little bit emotional that his 'other half' was getting married, aaaw so sweet. Gave him a Chinese burn to pull him back together!!

I realised that I had left the presents at home so popped out to collect them at 1pm (bit late considering that we were getting married at 2pm!!). As I turned out of my parents' road, I looked left and saw my huge bridal car waiting down the road. OMG!!! I started whooping and beeping my horn and screaming "that's my car, I'm getting married!!! Woohoo!!" Got a few strange looks fron passersby.

Started getting into my dress at 1.20pm with lots of laughs with my mom and bms. When the limo turned up to collect Mom and bms, I realised that h2b/husband must be at the church as the limo was taking him and his family there first - no backing out now!!

Got to the church a little late but didn't walk in umtil really late as loads of my family kept arriving late - cheek!! I walked up the aisle with the biggest grin on my face, my dad was trying to keep a straight face but he was grinning too - what must we have looked like?! When I got to the altar, gave husband a nudge and got one back. The ceremony went by in a whirl and we said our vows at the top of our voices, say it like you mean it!! After the signing the register, we walked back up the aisle to applause and whoops - it was mental!!

The reception was fantastic - the food was outstanding, the booze flowed (free bar!!) and the speeches made us laugh and cry. Definitely the best day of my life.
