Yeah I wondered this as well

  • I paid £120 from Johnsons the cleaners to get my dress dry cleaned and boxed in acid free tissue paper, its meant to prevent the dress from becoming discoloured. I was a bit shocked by the price as its seems a bit crazy for something you will never wear again but did not want to ruin the dress. Think its about £80 to have the dress cleaned and baged in a suit bag or about £100 upwards to have it boxed x

I chucked mine in the washing machine inside a duvet cover came out right as rain ,even though it's heavily beaded.

It's still in the dress bag though,I wont be wearing it again and I very much doubt any if my daughters will want it so if it gets a bit ropey over the years I won't mind ,it'll just remind me how long my marriage has lasted image

    Edited -terrible typing!!

  • I'm going to do the same as Robsterswife, just going to chuck it in the machine in a duvet cover on a delicate cool wash - then I'm going to wear it on Mondays (my day off!) image

Love it , I done mine on a 30 wash not all the stains came out but I have recently discovered the best stain remover ever (from the99p shop lol)

so going to get it out and do it again ,my mate paid for hers to be cleaned and it is still stained too though.

I really want to trash my dress ,I never really liked it so it will be my revenge!!

Will have to wait till after xmas but I want to really wreck it ,or do I ??

    lol
  • DO IT!!

I fancy a trash the dress shoot - I love my dress but lets face it I'm never going to wear it in public again and I'm not really sentimental over that sort of thing so I don't really care if it gets ruined.

I can't think of how to trash it though I did kind of mention with my photographer that I wanted to do a reaally urban shoot ,although I really love the classical abbey ruin pics too.

It's just the physical act of trashing it how do you do that??

I kind of like the welly boots and mud combo!!

These pics are gorgeous that my photographer took ,I really love the london one's and waverley abbey one's.

Would you take your hubby with you??

  • I think I would take hubby. I would like an urban shoot as well. Hubby is a construction contracts manager so I thought I would ask him if he could arrange for me to use one of his construction sites.
