    Whereabouts in Suffolk are you?

We are in Newmarket and got married just west of Cambridge in September.

These are the suppliers we used:

    Venue: http://www.longstowehall.co.uk

    Catering: http://www.carteblanchecatering.co.uk/

    Flowers: http://www.tollysflowers.co.uk/

    Photographer: http://www.johnparfittphotography.co.uk/

    Cake: http://www.tomscakes.co.uk/

    Dress: http://www.bridesbysolo.net/

Hair: Venus Hair & Beauty in Newmarket (they don't have a website)

Make Up: Melanie Brum, based in Mildenhall (no website but I can give you her email)

    Cars: http://www.carsforstars-peterborough.co.uk/

DJ: My dance partner/teacher David Wright - http://www.learnsalsa.co.uk/disco_new.html

    Hope that helps!
  • What a shame, I am in Ipswich so I think is a bit far for these people to come out to.

I'm using mayflaircakes.co.uk for cake obviously (!!) and got a friend doing the flowers as really do think these are over priced and sometimes less is best.

How much did you spend in total?image

    Including honeymoon about £25k. image

I know, I know, we certainly didn't set out to spend that much but then we decided that you only get married once! We are lucky enough that our parents helped us out a little and we saved the rest up ourselves.

Certainly our caterer, florist and photographer cover the whole of East Anglia and Cars For Stars have a base in Ipswich too:

    Good luck with your planning!
  • OK that's great thank you. Also will your parents want to adopt us lol!!

ps you do look fantastic on photo!!
  • We live in Stratford St Mary and were using some Ipswich suppliers for our wedding next year.

Highly reccommend Miranda from Extravorganza chair covers. We didnt originnally think about covers as we thought it would over power the venue, but after seeing her work their before, and seeing how bubbly she is, weve decicded to go for them. our themes cadbury chocolate purple and Miranda had a sample sash at a wedding fair in our exact colour.

Cakes - were using Sally from Cake Flair. She did my friends wedding and the cake looked and tasted wonderful.

Photographer - Pengelly Photography. Based in Sudbury, but they do cover Ipswich and there photos are stunning,

Flowers - Callas in Ipswich. Really nice guy that runs it and is so passionate about our day.

Music & DJ - Your Wedding Disco. We saw these at the Smeetham Hall Barn wedding show last year, and my friend had them for her wedding at Layer Marney too.

Favours - We looked at making these ourselves, but Martin decided to opt for Fudge as its kind of runs with the chocolaty theme

Chocolate Fountain - Booked with the Your Wedding Disco DJ company...we got a deal through them

Have you chosen your venue yet topnosh?

  • All this info is great thank you.

I found cake flair a little to expensive for me but you are right, her cakes are nice.

I may try HotBobbins in Lt Blakenham though as I only live in Needham Market. My cakes from Bramford and clothes from Lt Blakenham - like to support local businesses if poss. I have even heard that there is a photographer in Claydon - has anyone used or heard of them before please???
