Photographer Recommendations Please!

Hello all,

I'm hoping that you may be able to help!

We are looking for a photographer for our wedding next year in London.

Our original budget was around £1K, but I think we will most likely have to go quite a bit over that (especially as we'd like all day coverage), and we can try and cut costs elsewhere if we have to.

We'be looked at lots of people online but none that have fitted into budget have really made my heart sing with their images.

We'd like someone really creative and friendly, who thinks outside the box a little bit.

I'd love to hear your recommendations for photographers!

Thanks in advance! :)

Not sure what sort of style you're after but if its natural light and reportage style check out jeff krotz - all the worlds a studio and a guy called Heni Fourie. Both are based in Bucks so 20 - 30 mins west of London but travel anywhere.

These 2 were my shortlist and eventually chose Heni x

  • Thank you MrsNolan2017! I will check them out :)

It took me ages to settle on a photographer after days, weeks and months of research. I hope this helps:

Rebecca Kathryn - we met her at the London Wedding Show and she was absolutely lovely. She has some good packages too.

Damion Mower - Damion was one of the first photographers I contacted and he has reasonable prices.

Reid Photography - husband & wife team were lovely when we spoke to them at the wedding show and via emails, but once we'd negotiated on a price, they stopped responding to us. Service is very important to me, so I didn't chase. But if you're more easy going than me, give them a shout.

Clare Tam-Im - again, we met Clare during the wedding show. She was lovely but her work didn't really stand out to us.

Chris Giles - lovely style but slightly more than we were willing to spend

Mick @ Miki Photography - I LOVED Mick. Absolutely fell in love with his pictures, but the hubby was not happy about the price. His photography and videography came to just under £4000. He responded to every single email I sent him within the hour even when I was on holiday in Sri Lanka and he had to deal with the time difference!

Mick also recommended his colleague Ash -

Enitan photography - we ended up booking with Enitan as we felt he would blend better with our guests and therefore was more likely to get them comfortable in front of the camera. Our package with him includes two photographers, an album, a pre-wedding shoot etc and came in under £1500.

I would really recommend attending a wedding show as you can pick up some great discounts. Take your time to pick the right person and good luck :) x

  • We would love to be considered! We are Sheffield based but happy to travel. We just for a tank of diesel and ask and a travelodge or similar for the night before to make sure we are there without traffic problems, stress or drama! Even with this we usually work out cheaper than the locals!

This is our website, feel free to have a look and do ask if you have any questions! Do keep in mind we only take on a limited number of weddings each year to ensure the very best in customer service - 2017 is almost full!

Our website is  and you can also see our Facebook page which has first looks at our most recent work

    Hope to hear from you!

Photography by Kerim, he's exactly as you described. Hilarious, easy going, a natural creative that thinks outside the box. He's not cheap but in my eyes he's the best.. unique and quirky, and his package is basically he's with you wherever you go until your wedding is over!

    Hi Emerald Green,

Have you considered looking outside of London as you are likely to get a better deal.

I am based in South Wales, but happy to travel all over.  Even with a hotel stay the night before (I'd hate to get caught in traffic!) I will still come in under your budget of £1000.

Please feel free to check out my website and get in touch if you'd like a chat / Skype xx

Does anyone have any recommendations for destination weddings in Italy?! I feel like I am pulling my hair out trying to find someone I like - I am being picky I know!

Many good photographers but trying to find the look I want. I finally found one I was happy with and he was from Russia but then I never heard back from him once he said he was available and agreed on costs. Someone I was talking to also made me worried about using someone from Russia, It would be the worst thing to not have your photographer turn up or if you never received your photos!

Any tips for making sure your photographer is legit and will turn up?! Do photographers normally use a contract or something?

Probably a bit late but we are using Abul at Gracious Photography. He photographed our friends' wedding last year and his professionalism and photos were amazing, once we got engaged this was the first decision we made!!

Our planning thread: We're completely winging it.
Our report: A fun, classic May day in navy and blush
    My weightloss thread: Diet denial!
  • Hi Both,

Hope you are well, with regards to your photographer I can highly recommend you viewing a site called the Welsh Wedding Guild of Wales, they provide accredited suppliers for all your Wedding & Honeymoon requirements to include your photographer.

They are all vetted and accredited where you wont get any problems, can personally recommend.

    Website if it helps:

    Good Luck.

You can never have enough photographer recommmendations!
Our chosen photographer has a wonderful style and perhaps quite different, prices are a little more expensive but in some ways you get what you pay for!
Everyone has their own take on style and price, its just getting the right formula.
