Village hall/barns in Essex/Hertfordshire?

Hi,

I'm looking for an inexpensive but nice venue in Essex or Hertfordshire areas. I thought that village hall might be an option and was wondering if anyone knew any nice ones in these counties? Or another alternative to wedding package deals?

Is this for the reception only or to get married too?

  • Potentially for both, although we are open to the possibility of getting officially married in a local register office and then having an unofficial ceremony at a venue we hire :)

  • There are actually some really nice halls in Hertfordshire. I've put a link down the bottom for halls. I'm not sure where in Hertfordshire you are but you can do a search using your post code and it will give you options for what is close to you.

We had our reception in Sutton Hall, Red Brick Barn (Essex).  You can also get married here.  Check it out :)

It's DIY venue, so you'll need to source everything including your own marquee, if you need to extend the barn, and if you want to use the gardens :) X

    Tewin Memorial Hall, Tewin

Red Brick Barn is lovely too

The Reid Rooms allow you to bring in your own caterers

We got married at The Room in the Rodings in Essex. Beautiful venue which I think may fit your bill.

probably not ideal as you can't get married there but the village hall at Belchamp St Paul in north Essex is really pretty with lovely grounds.
