Florida Wedding

Hi all,

My H2B and i are getting married in Florida next year and are going out there this November to meet with wedding planners and check out potential venues. Anyone got any suggestions on the sort of questions we should be asking so we dont get ripped off or mislead on anything??

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

    Hello Sarah,

I'm getting married in Cypress Grove on 12th Sept 07. I have booked through a travel agent and i'm using Getmarriedinflorida.com.

They are really good and help you with everything.

I am getting married in Florida in 2010 on Anna Maria Island.

It is beautiful, having the ceremony on the beach. Me and my h2b are going out there in 18 days to see venue together and meet with the lady that organises it to ask questions,

Does anyone know what type of questions we should ask, also how far in advance did you all start booking and looking for dresses etc.

They will start booking everything usually a year to the date in advance. You should find out what will be included in your price, what caterers you are allowed to use etc.....

I dont think it matters when you get your dress, I bought mines about a year ago without trying on another dress, I knew I wanted that dress.

Definitely check and see what kind of package deals you can get with a planner and venue. This can reduce your cost a lot. Another option is to see if you can look at venues that allow outside caterers/packages. This definitely opens up your options. There is a great list of Florida venue options here http://new.bestmiamiweddings.com/venue-address/south-florida-wedding-venues/ that you can look at to get an idea of what you want to see ahead of time. Also definitely see if you can get in touch with Nelly Taveras, she is a great wedding planner! Her site is here http://try.bestmiamiweddings.com/nelly/
