Italy...Civil Ceremony outdoors(Not Church or Townhall)

Hello all

I really need some advice, I would like a civil ceremony outside with a view but not a town hall.

I would really like a Castello(Castle) or historic Villa.

Does anyone know of any places or wedding planners to help?

Tuscany region looks pretty though I like the coast too.

Thanks in advance

  • Hi Hayley,

I wanted exactly the sdame, and viewed lots of nevues last month in Italy - you can see al my reviews here:

I've given some info about all teh diff places I saw in lake Como, Tuscan Coast and Sorrento and there's pictures too - should give you an idea of what is possible :)

If you have any questions about any of them just ask!

I reccomend lisa at Hitched in Italy - she does lots in Tuscany so do drop her an email.

  • My friend hired an AMAZING villa in Lucca, Turcany called Villa Cheli:

The food there was incredible, the ceremony was an outdoor one in the gardens by the pool. It was the best wedding ever!

  • Malcesine castle, lake Garda

  • San Galgano is a stunning ruined castle / abbey which does civil ceremonies x

  • It depends when you want your wedding, puplic spaces will be busy in July August so hiring a large villa would be ideal, although Tuscany is extremely beautiful it is also very expensive, you could check out surrounding areas which have similar views but cost less (le marche is also picturesque) Orange groves in Sicily? Sardinia has stunning coast lines and is actually very reasonable if you move away from Costa Smerelda,

There are lots of pretty villages around Rome,

Consider where you and your guests can fly to and transfer times.

You will probably need a wedding planner unless you can find a villa or hotel who will do that for you.

    Good luck.

Take a look at http://www.italianlakesweddings.com/ we used them and chose the castle in Malcesine but the ceremony itself takes place outside.

They use a whole host of venues around the lake - check out their photo gallery it gives you a really great idea of your options and this is why i used them!
