Swollen legs and ankles really painful

As the title says really they are horribnly painful especially at night and I am starting to get a few bruises appearing now too.

Anyone else experiencing this too or any tips on how to releive the pressure

I know its prob nothing hun but you are meant to go and see doctor if your legs swell due to risk of deep vein thrombosis (sp?). Its prob just normal pregnancy side effect but best to get checked out. xx
  • Yes I agree with Mossy's Missus - it could also be a warning sign of pre-eclampsia too so get off to the docs to be on the safe side.

It might also be harmless and just down to the extra weight and pressure on your legs and ankles - in which case rest is probably the best option and perhaps keeping them warm with a hot water bottle at night to soothe the pain a little. Perhaps wearing some (very unsexy) support tights/stockings during the day might help - but I'd check that with your GP first in case it would do more harm than good, oh and definitely flat shoes! lol x

Hope you get better soon x
