Rash on stomach

Hi, just wondering if any of you have suffered from this? My stomach started to itch earlier this week (I have not been scratching) and it has developed into a full-blown rash above my belly button. It's driving me mad and the only things that calm it down are E45 cream and putting a wet flannel over it. Any other suggestions, or how I can get rid of it? Thanks ladies x

    How many weeks are you?

As I am 12 weeks and have had rash on my hips and under my boobs which is heat rash. Cold flannel and E45 only thing helping me there too. If you are late in pregnancy and itchy too then get to a Dr to check out it isn't related to liver function as my friend just had this in her last few weeks of pregnancy

Try Derma Care cream - you can get it from Boots. If it continues go and see your GP - I had this when I was pregnant and it got worst so went to see GP who ended up giving me steriod cream. It's all down to hormones!

As the above post says, if u are in late pregnancy please get this seen asap. I developed a rash at 35weeks which was diagnosed by gp as pupps.midwife wasn't convinced and did a blood test at 38 weeks and turned out i had cholestasis and my liver was failing. I was induced that day and was unwell for about a month after. It has taken 5 months to get my liver back to normal.

I don't want to alarm u but just from experience if your end the late stages please get and rash or itchyness checked out by your midwife not gp.

If your still in early stages the chances are it maybe a form of heat rash or a reaction from something. Try calamile lotion for the itch

I'm 36+2 weeks so quite far along. I did show the midwife and she just passed it off as normal but it's spread right across the top half of my stomach. Will phone doctor on Monday morning and see what he says. I've never experienced anything like this before. Thanks for your replies. x

My community midwife did the same and said it was normal. It then got worse and i couldn't get hold of her so i rang the delivery suite at the hospital who told me to come in. It was the midwife and doctors there who decided to do the blood test and duscovered it.

I was also told by the maternity doctor that any pregnancy related problems should be seen by them and not the gp who is not specialised.

Personally i would advise that you ring your maternity unit and ask for their advice on what u should do. If it turns out to be nothing then atleast u know for sure

Quick update, i have rang the maternity ward and they have asked me to go in and have a blood test done and just put me on the CTG monitor to make sure everything is okay. Thanks for all your advice, fingers crossed its nothing more than hormone related. x
