Thanks guys it went ok. She said the fact that my periods are regular and I've got pregnant before, and my pelvic ultrasound scan after the mc was all clear are all good signs. She kept saying about how over 90% of couples that dont get pregnant in the 1st year will do in the 2nd year. I thought she was going to fob us off when she kept saying that but she has given me 3 lots of blood forms to get done to test for thyroid, progesterone, and a load of other things as well as chlamydia (apparently that's normal to do) which I have to have done 7 days before AF is due. She also said to book back in for an internal examination and wants hubby to book in for an appointment himself to discuss his side of things and possibly get a semen analysis done.
She had a feel of my tummy and said it all felt ok and I had no obvious signs or symptoms of anything like pcos etc.

So we shall see what happens  I got the impression she thinks it will just happen when it happens but I will feel better after having the bloods done.

Sammykate You might just be more aware of peeing? TTC makes you very aware of your body. I also thought I was peeing more than usual. Could of course be pg symptom. Where in your cycke do you think you are?
You can start tracking cm perhaps. A little less intense than temping. And if you can reach it your cervix position. Although I never managed to figure that one out.

MrsPope that looks pretty close to positive to me. Did you test again?

OmRum I really hope it was an implantation cramp. How odd about your luteal phase shortening. Could the opk have been on the downward curve? Some women also get a positive opk around their period. But 9 days before seems a bit of a reach.

Blondie That is amazing that you are taking part in the London marathon. Although I dont know what to suggest. In terms of ttc it would be better to come off contraception sooner. But I can see why you wouldnt want to risk getting your period during the marathon.
In terms of opks I usually buy a big batch of the cheap ones from Amazon. So far they have always worked for me. Although for some  ladies they dont. The boots own brand opk were good too. And the clearblue advanced are easiest to read. But expensive. Plus I always recommend testing two times a day when you get closer to O. Because some women have a very short LH surge. I usually test in the morning and then again when I come back from work. Although Ideal time is early afternoon.

Got my second flashing smiley this morning and my resting heart rate is starting fo climb. My temperatures have been all over the place this week. Do you ladies usually BD every day or every other day once you get a flashing smiley.

Ooh also meant to say I always need to wee more around Ov time Sammykate so it could just be something to do with the changes in hormones. Where are 5ou in your cycle atm?

Thanks for the peeing advice ladies lol. I have no idea if my cycle is regular or not right now as I'm only 6 weeks off the pill, but when I came off I had a small AF and then a proper one 2 weeks later (much heavier than the ones I normally have when on the pill) so I'm guessing that was AF arriving for real... last day of that was the 13th so I'm CD15 if I'm using the terminology right?! Maybe needing to pee constantly is normal around ovulation for me too then and I just don't remember as I've been on the pill for 5 years now.

Okay 'reaching your cervix position' sounds intense and scary lol.

I read something online that says current studies show you're more likely to get PG if DTD twice within an hour as the second lot is more potent or something... no idea if that's true but might have to see is hubs is up for it lol!

Good luck in the appointment MrsPope hope it went well!!

That sounds positive Mrspope! I bet you feel better regarding getting some blood tests done! Did you take any charts or anything with you? Also did Hubby go in with you? Its good that she didn’t seem concerned but I guess it must be frustrating when the advice is ‘keep tying’!

I’m going to try and get an appointment for late next week. Bit of a silly Q but did you tell them what the appointment was for when booking it? I’m feeling pretty nervous as my cycles aren’t regular and I’ve never got pregnant before, I’m scared they’re going to find something really wrong.

Dandelion, I'm hoping it was just a one off. I've only had two cycles so far when it's been short, so just monitoring it the moment. It's been every other month, so at least one of the ovaries seems to be working okay! I had cramps and two spots of blood yesterday. I'm desperately hoping it was implantation but I've hoped that for every cycle so far when I've had cramping around this time, so trying not to hope too much. This is definitely a few days early though. My body seems to throw me an irregularity every cycle to get my hopes up! Apart from that, I have the usual faint nausea and backache.

MrsPope and Tallie, good luck with your appointments and tests. I'veheard that 90% of couples get pregnant their second year, and a similar percentage their third, so there's definitely plenty of hope yet.

Sammy, there's so much debate over how often to BD but I've never heard twice in an hour! I suppose the more sperm the better! No harm in trying though 😉.
  • @MrsPope2018 glad your appt went well, sounds like shes not too worried which I'd take as a positive but good that shes running some precautionary tests.

@Sammykate twice in an hour is a new one on me!! I don't even know if hubby would be capable haha

@OmRum that definitely sounds like implantation bleeding I would describe mine with my first baby like 2 spots of blood  :) I have been hoping to see some myself for this reason but nothing yet  :/ Your symptoms sound so promising, when r u planning to test??
  • OmRumOmRum Posts: 951 New bride
Thanks for the encouragement, MrsM. Unfortunately, over my last few cycles I have had implantation-like symptoms which have always turned into AF, so trying not to get my hopes up. The difference is this time it is several days earlier than normal, but that might be because AF is coming a few days earlier, as it has a couple of times recently. I usually get cramping on and off for three days a week before AF, so waiting now to see if I get any more cramping today. If I don't get the usual pre-AF cramps or early AF I will probably test next Friday morning, as I'm going drinking in the evening. If I do get the cramps, I shall expect AF during the day and cry into a glass of wine in the pub.

One other difference is the colour of the spotting (TMI to follow). The first spot was a dark red blob, and then the next time I wiped I got a baby pink spot (both tiny marks when I wiped, although some staining on my underwear). The dark red is what I normally get, but the baby pink is new to me. I might be bright red mixed with white CM, but certainly my spotting has always just been the dark red clumps before.

I'm probably symptom spotting again and reading way too much into it! I think the biggest relief of getting pregnant will be no longer stressing about all this, hahaha!
  • MrsPope2018MrsPope2018 Posts: 1,388 New bride
OmRum that does all sound very stressful. I always get spotting prior to AF and every month I get my hopes up a little that it might be implantation so I totally get how you feel. What CD are you? If its earlier than usual then that is a positive sign 🤞🤞

Sammykate that's a new one on me, my poor hubby would have a heart attack if suggested twice in one hour atm lol.

Tallie, I didn't tell them what it was for, but when i booked i asked if there was a Dr that specialised in fertility or womens health and they said no, so i just booked it with any Dr. I had my phone with me with all my cycles on but she didn't ask to see it just asked how long my cycles are and what my periods were like and how often we BD. I guess if your cycles are irregular it would be worth having a note of them. My husband did come with me but to be honest there was no need, it was a bit of a waste of time as she only asked me questions then told him to make a separate apt to discuss things for him.

MrsPope, I'm CD24, or 6dpo. I'm expecting AF by CD32, so next Friday. It seems too early to be implantation, but Google searches suggest implantation can happen as early as that. I'm still not convinced it's anything other than normal pre-AF stuff, though. This week can't go quickly enough!

Thread hopping to say I had spotting 5dpo then got a bfp 15 dpo so don't rule out implantation bleeding
  • MrsPope2018MrsPope2018 Posts: 1,388 New bride
Oh my poor hubby must be really nervous about having to do a SA, hes gone and ordered an at home kit off Amazon because he said he'd rather know before he does one for the GP (logic!??!?) I didn't have the heart to tell him it's probably not accurate because hes obviously worrying about it bless him. I said at least all he has to do is have a w*nk,  that's nothing compared to what us women have to go through 😂
  • Tallie237Tallie237 Posts: 532 New bride
Omrum 🤞 its implantation bleeding! Would love to see a BFP on here soon. The tww drags so much doesn't it!

Thanks for all that information Mrspope I really appreciate it, its made me feel a lot better. I dont think I'll have hubby come in with me, we're registered with different GPs plus he doesn't want to go for his own tests yet - he wants to wait a month or 2. Like your husband I think this might be nerves. I didn't even realise you could get at home tests! Bless him. Can I be nosey and ask if it was expensive? I'm think my husband might want to give it a try first with him being reluctant to go to the doctors.

OmRum I don't want to get your hopes up but that does definitely sound like implantation bleeding. Too late for ovulation bleeding. And too early for pre af spotting in my opinion. Early but within timeframe for implantation spotting.  FC. You might be able to get a faint line in 3 days.

MrsPope I imagine what your doctor said is a relief. But also frustrating at the same time. As there is no other solution than keep trying. But at least you are getting blood tests done. And if anything was wrong they would be able to tell.

Sammykate I think I did read about that. Although I think it doesnt apply to those whose partners spe4m count is low. In which case ROD is still better. But then you wouldnt know

Tallie what do you plan to discuss with the doctor?
I am actually considering making an appointment myself. The fact that my period is so very light still has me worried.

I had vague cramping again yesterday evening which felt like normal pre-AF. I think it's just coming early again. FC I'm wrong .
  • MrsPope2018MrsPope2018 Posts: 1,388 New bride
Keeping everything crossed for you OmRum, that is the worst part of the whole cycle in my opinion as you seem to just be in limbo waiting. 🤞 for IB like the others said.

Tallie I think it was about £25, I have no idea if its reliable, I didn't know you could get home ones either, it does say that it's the same ones they use in labs but who knows!?! I will let you know when it arrives.

Dandelion how are you getting on? Any sign of that solid smiley?

I did another opk when I got home from work last night and it was still positive, I will do another one this morning but I'm expecting it to start getting lighter now. So I'm hoping my temperatures will show that Ov has happened over the next few days. We have DTD the last 2nights and hopefully will again tonight. 🤞🤞

OmRum fingers crossed for you! I really hope its good news!

Before I had my first proper AF after coming off the pill I had some breast soreness in the week running up, and that's re appeared today so not a good sign.

Ovia says I'm out of my fertile window but still gives a 5 fertile score- so does that mean it's still worth giving it a shot today?! Or no point? (other than the joy of BD with hubs, obviously..... lol)

I think I need to start opk or temping in the next month or so as it feels so much like a guessing game right now.

Hannah I've been thinking about you. Sorry you've been going through such a hard time. Have you had any signs of an ectopic? Still keeping everything crossed for you for a positive outcome 🤞 although I understand it's probably hard to think of anything but the worst right now. I hope you and your husband are doing as ok as can be. Xx
  • DandelionBlueDandelionBlue Posts: 1,455 New bride
Oh Hannah 😢 I really hope it is not an ectopic. That sucks. I will keep my fingers crossed that it all turns out well in the end.

Sammykate until you know exactly when you O, I would probably stick to what the NHS suggests. Which is to BD every other day throughout the cycle. Breast soreness can mean all sorts of things. FC it is a good thing in your case.

MrsPope Have you seen a temperature rise? O will be confirmed after three days of increased temperatures.

Tallie I might actually be tempted to get an ar home kit for hubby myself. But I think those must test for testosterone. As you need a microscope to actually assess sperm count / motility / morphology. But there are websites that allow you to send in a sperm sample and they do a real test. Far more expensive than 25£ though.

I got another flashing smiley today  and my rhr dropped by a beat. I dont think I am near O yet. I havent had my usual cramping yet. Still continuing to BD EOD though.

  • MrsPope2018MrsPope2018 Posts: 1,388 New bride
Had a very slight temp rise this morning but as I only got my positive opk yesterday I dont know when they would start to rise, I'm assuming I have ovulated today but hopefully the temps will tell me for sure. My opk this afternoon was very light. I have to admit I've not been sleeping great since I started temping so I dont know how reliable it will all be. Worth a shot though.

Yeah like I said for £25 I dont know how reliable it is but if it puts hubby's mind at rest I'm just keeping quiet lol. It arrived today but you cant have sex for 3-7 days before doing it and as we are at the most crucial part of my cycle he will have to wait until next week to do it 😂

My app said AF was due yesterday and she still hadn’t appeared. I’m 99% sure I’m not pregnant and think it’s just messed up cycles after having my implant out. Also been at the pub after work this evening to celebrate booking our minimoon so did think after my first pint I hope I’m not. I did only have a single rum and coke after that.

Hope all you ladies are ok.
  • MrsPope2018MrsPope2018 Posts: 1,388 New bride
Ooh MrsP will you test or wait it out??
  • MrsPB2019MrsPB2019 Posts: 832 New bride
I’ve promised myself not to test until next weekend. I think/hope AF is likely to show by then and if not then I have to test at that point as I’m booked in to donate blood on the 8th.

Happy weekend ladies, has anyone got anything nice planned??

I'm on a 14 hour day at work but then going out for leaving drinks for 2 of my colleagues, we are playing mini golf which should be funny.

MrsP I am impressed with your willpower to wait that long!! I also give blood and have to try and time it around AFs arrival just in case 😂

I had quite a significant increase in my temp this morning and going by my opks I think I probably ovulated yesterday so hopefully the rise will continue over the next couple of days. hubby gets a break from DTD tonight with me being out 😂but then hopefully we will try tomorrow and then it's a case of sit back and wait....

Honestly part of me is tempted to test now so need to keep myself busy this weekend. I did just have a hot bath though and it wasn’t until I was sat in it that I thought ‘I really hope I’m not 😕’ (because I didn’t want to harm them from the bath) I did notice my app has also moved AF to due tomorrow, I wonder if that’s because of the symptoms I’ve been putting in or just because I’ve not logged AF as begun so it just moves it on.

I read the other day the cheapest time to conceive is April to have a January baby as you can get everything in the sales. So fingers crossed everyone!
