thats fantastic, nice little discount as well, so pleased you found the one and they can keep it there for you. Lovely for you and your mum to go together x

I need to lose 3 or 4 stone by the wedding so can't go dress shopping untill next year and I've lost at least 2 stone of it. I've fallen in love with pictures of a mori lee dress so don't know if it's worth trying to see it in the flesh. There's currently one on eBay brand new ina. size 12 starting from £150 lol so tempted to buy it and see it haha

Oh God...I'm trying not to get sucked into new planning threads, but I just can't help myself with this one!! Mainly because of your Disneyland proposal, because, well...duh, but you have just killed me with your Cinderella dress. I've never known anyone who loves Disney to end up going through with the full on princess gown in the end so I am bowing down to you right now! You have put my love for Disney well and truly to shame. How wonderful for you!! x

Oh balls, stupid autocorrect! Three times I wrote Cinderella and for some reason it kept changing it to that! Obviously I didn't notice the last time. Oh well!

Well done on your weight loss so far! I've lost a stone since January and I have another 5lbs to go until I'm at my goal weight. Hopefully I'll be able to keep it off too!

I'd definitely go to see it in the flesh - I saw a beautiful dress on the internet that Roberta's took to the National Wedding Show and thought it was perfect. I tried it on and looked like a sack of spuds! Shame I'm not 6ft tall and a size zero like the model in the picture ๐Ÿ™„ Actually, no shame at all, I get to be a princess instead now!

Sounds pretty fitting though if it wasn't actually Cinderella's dress - a completely unintentional pun, the best kind!

Lubes, you literally have no idea! I read through both your thread and your report when I first joined the site and drew quite a few comparisons between us! Thank you for reading! I do bloody love Disney though ๐Ÿ˜‚ such a big kid!

Think I might call the stockist local to me to see if they have it and maybe make an appointment to just go and have a look at it before the bay sale ends.. if you buy a cheap dress does that mean you can buy two? haha x

well done you will get that 5lb off in know time and the dress will help keep the motivation for it staying off x

  • MrsBAMFMrsBAMF Posts: 217 New bride

If you get a cheaper dress, that means more expensive shoes ๐Ÿ˜‰

Wow, that dress is beautiful! I can't believe how much you've got done already, including picking your dress!  I can't wait to see pictures of you in it.
Any pictures of the veil and tiara you picked to go with it?

Ahh, thank you Joanne! I didn't take pics of the veil or tiara, but I might have a look for them online to see what I can find!

What I do know is my veil is single tier, around fingertip length (I kept swooshing it behind me like Superman) with diamanté sparkles scattered on it ๐Ÿ˜

How are your plans coming along?

    I've done absolutely nothing
We can't book the registrar yet, so until we've done that I've held back just in case we can't get the date required. I'm sure it'll be fine but I'm just being over cautious.
I keep ringing the local registry office who have confirmed the 2019 diaries are on order so hopefully in the next few weeks I can get us booked in for our date, and then the planning will take over

  • MrsBAMFMrsBAMF Posts: 217 New bride

I'm sure everything will be fine, but just in case, I've got my fingers crossed for you!

I've just realised as well that I've got a bit more done than I've put on here, I could do with writing a couple more posts so this is all up to date! No chance of that this weekend though - I have a day at Cheshire Oaks with a friend tomorrow and then two parties for two very special and very beautiful little ladies in my life on Sunday!

First things first, I'm taking my dad to a mixed class at my gym in about an hour. He always bangs on about how in shape he is "for a man of his age" (that age being almost 60 and his shape being a fairly sized beer belly), so I can't wait to put him through his paces

    #teambride

I'm so glad I can finally write this post! As soon as Mr BAMF popped the question, I knew exactly who was going to be my bridesmaids, it just took me a while to ask them all!

Maid of honour was an easy choice, it was always going to be my best friend J. We have known each other since I was about 3 and she was 5 - our parents go back a long, long way! It was our mutual love for Take That that sealed the deal back then (not a lot has changed there) and we've been "bestest friends in the whole wide world" since I was about 16. We have talked about our weddings for years, and I'm pretty sure she started planning my hen party as soon as I met Mr BAMF! She always knew she was going to be my maid of honour, it was just a case of asking her properly. She wasn't very well at the beginning of the year, so I decided to give her a little something that was sure to make her feel better!

    image

Of course, she was thrilled to bits and agreed to be my slave for the day... I mean maid of honour! Haha!

Next were my not-so-little cousins G and L, who will be bridesmaid. Their dad (my cousin) is like my big brother, and I have always been close to these two. G was born the day after my 15th birthday and I promised to turn her into my mini-me. She is now pretty much a foot taller than me and bonkers about football, so not so much of a mini-me after all! L is 3 years younger and obsessed with YouTube, singing, dancing and acting. She's as tall as me and she's not even 10 yet! They were given these, along with a Save the Date (which I'll cover in another post).

    image

Anyway, they both screamed (which I took as a yes) and now won't stop asking us about the wedding whenever we see them! They are both banned from wearing heels on the day so that me and J don't look like Borrowers in the photos ๐Ÿ˜‚ #smallgirlprobs

Last but not least are our flower girls, the two newest additions to mine and Mr BAMF's families, our beautiful nieces JB and H. You may remember one of my early posts about our baby niece who died last year - H is her baby sister who was born 6 weeks ago and she is just perfect. Now obviously, neither JB or H will understand what a flower girl is right now, but I still wanted to give them a little pressie to make it official!

    image

How cute are these?! Both sets of mums and dads were very excited to have the babies involved in the wedding, whereas JB carried on playing with a basket of pegs and H was asleep (standard!).

So there you have it, all my girls ๐Ÿ˜

Wow that is some dress! I would personally look ridiculous in it as I am tall and ballgowns do not seem to suit tall girls but you will look amazing.

Love the balloon and bridesmaid bits. It makes me second think about having no bridesmaids

  • MrsBAMFMrsBAMF Posts: 217 New bride

    Ahh, thank you Wibs!

If it was always your plan not to have bridesmaids, I'd stick to your guns to be honest! There was never any doubt that these girls would be my bridesmaids, for me it was just a case of asking them when the time arrived. If I was planning to have all my closest friends, I would honestly have around 20-25 bridesmaids which would be ridiculous by anyone's standards, so I'm sticking with my original plan. Like your thread title says, don't stress about it!

Aww i love the flowergirl vests!! so cute :)

I have also had to ban my bridesmaid / 15 year old step daughter from wearing heels as she is much taller than me and i don't want to look like a wally!!

  • MrsBAMFMrsBAMF Posts: 217 New bride

Thank you wed172B! I got them done at a local market and I couldn't be more pleased with how they came out! JB's vest is still too big, but I don't think H will be far off fitting into hers.

It's bad enough with Mr BAMF being pretty much a foot taller than me, never mind 2 of my bridesmaids! I don't plan on growing any taller between now and the wedding either, haha!

Oh I feel your pain! I'm 5ft 4 so not tiny but hubby and his 15 year old son are both just over 6 and his daughter is maybe 5 10! So they always make fun of me for being a short arse!

  • MrsBAMFMrsBAMF Posts: 217 New bride

    I'm only 5ft 1.5, and that .5 is very important! ๐Ÿ˜‚

    What a stressful day...

    ... and it's only just after 12!

Ok, long story short - found out this morning that Alfred Angelo are about to be declared bankrupt. All their US stores and head office were closed down last night, but still no official word from the company themselves.

The shop I'm getting my dress from put an announcement on Facebook to say they are working as hard as they can to work out what's happening for customers who've already placed orders (i.e. me) and will be in touch individually ASAP. I had a little tear when I told Mr BAMF and was happy to wait for more information and sent a text to Mum and MOH to let them know too.

Then, my dad called me to say he'd seen Facebook and basically gave me a bollocking for it (because it's obviously my fault)! "You need to cancel the money! You need to do this! You need to do that! You need to do the other!" Well, I don't need to cancel the money, as it came off Mum's credit card, so Mum needs to do that (if the worst comes to worst). He basically reduced me to a blubbering, shouting, shaking wreck, which is not what you want when you're trying to work from home on a Friday! I did the sensible thing (!) and hung up on him.

I then gave my mum a call, who was much calmer than my dad had been about the whole thing! "You've got wedding insurance, don't worry! The shop have said we can use the deposit on another dress if needs be, just calm down!" I also said I'd get in touch with the shop to see if I could have the exact dress I tried on as we knew it fitted me already but wasn't holding my breath...

Someone "up there" must be smiling down on me because the owner, Kelly, came straight back to me saying "You were just the person I wanted to speak to! Would you be ok with the dress we have in the shop?" Would I?! Yesyesyesyesyes!!! Cue more tears and shaking from this hormonal mess! We can even have it a little bit cheaper still (I've already got 10% off if you remember)!

I feel like a little weight's been lifted off my shoulders now, I'm stepping off this emotional rollercoaster and I can now go about my usual business for the rest of the day!

As for Dad, I have another mixed session at the gym with him tonight - if there's boxing involved, he's in for it!!!

    xXx

  • I sent you a message about this! I was so worried for you! So glad it's all worked out! Does that mean you can bring it home!??? X

  • MrsBAMFMrsBAMF Posts: 217 New bride

Thanks beaut! Only just seen it - didn't get a notification about it! Thank you for thinking of me - I thought of you straight away too, thinking how lucky you were to already have yours!

I think they'll still be keeping it for me until I find my shoes so they can alter it - they're having a new seamstress working in store in a few months time as well, so busy busy! Kelly hasn't mentioned anything to me about needing to pick it up, so I'll see what happens! I'm just relieved that I haven't got to worry now *touch wood*

So glad it's sorted for you, saw the news and thought of you straight away!

  • Good :) as long as you're happy :)

  • MrsBAMFMrsBAMF Posts: 217 New bride

Oh girls, how lovely of you to both think of me!

I won't lie, I've been through every step of the grief process this morning (over a dress of all things) and now have a banging head, puffy eyes and not a lot of work has been done as a result (oops!). If I drank alcohol, I'd be tempted with a large one right about now. Instead, I shall make do with my second "Couch to 5k" session to clear the cobwebs, how sad!

    xXx

  • Ah I feel I have a little connection with you! Hahahaha! Even if I'm super jealous you get to do it a whole week before me!!!! Haha! X

  • MrsBAMFMrsBAMF Posts: 217 New bride

Well, we are Disney Princess dress twins! Hehe!

I've now fallen out with both Mum and Dad in quite spectacular fashion, all stemming from (would you believe it) my mum's phone going dead this morning, which had absolutely nothing to do with me whatsoever and me not having enough time to go over and set her new one up for her this evening.

I am obviously the most selfish daughter who has ever graced this earth, who picks people up when she wants them and drops them when she doesn't (this was said to me several times over the phone). I wish I was making this shit up. Anyone would think that my mum was a teenager with the strop she's thrown about her phone!

As much as I would like to just let them get on with it all, I have Slimming World with my mum in the morning and then I'm supposed to be going to see bridesmaid G in her school musical in the afternoon with both of them. Awkward much?

    xXx
