It's like the pair of them had had their brains wiped! Friday might as well have happened in a parallel universe, they couldn't have been nicer to me yesterday! ๐Ÿ˜ณ

G was brilliant though - they were doing We Will Rock You and everyone was singing by the end ๐Ÿค˜๐Ÿผ Gotta love a bit of Queen!

    Save the Dates

Continuing the Disney theme, I got it into my head that I wanted our Save the Dates to look like the FastPass tickets that you can get at the Disney parks and fortunately Mr BAMF loved this idea too.

The original plan was to make our own, despite my hand hurting at the mere thought of all the cutting out I'd have to do. We found a seller on Etsy who could provide personalised PDF versions of the FastPass for a decent enough price, but when we factored in the printing and the time and effort it would actually take us to get them done, we opted to have magnets made for us by the same seller. We used "Yensid Designs", although I think the name has been changed since then, and they are brilliant!

You could have the FastPass in either Walt Disney World or Disneyland format, and the range of images you can choose from to have on the top of the FastPass is IMMENSE! You can have any of the rides from any of the parks, Disney characters, castles, Princesses, Villains... it was a tough decision choosing what we wanted.

I think we went for 7 or 8 different designs for a bit of variety (no extra charge either), and had a preview sent through to us within a couple of hours! We were more than happy with what we received and ordered 100 magnets to send out to our nearest and dearest.

    image

We had to pay a £12 customs fee on top of the price, but it was definitely worth it! The magnets are such good quality and everyone who's had one has said how cool they are, very different to anything they'd seen for a Save the Date invite, and everyone said they are very "us"!

Thank you MrsP! Writing this last night inspired me to start scouring Pinterest for more Disney park themed stationery ๐Ÿ˜‚ I have an idea that's Disney related for the tables/table plan that I think will be pretty cool if we can do it and also if Mr BAMF agrees to it!

Thanks Tanya! That's just how I feel! And slightly emotional/sad at the fact that I'm not there right now, haha!

    The ring!

Just realised I haven't showed you ladies my engagement ring! Mr BAMF did very well choosing/designing this himself. He got it from a place in the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham called Diamond Dealer Direct.

It's so dainty compared to what I thought I wanted, turns out he knows me better than I know myself ๐Ÿ˜‰

    Shoes - part 1!

As I was having a casual scroll through Pinterest on Saturday night, I came across what I have now decided are the prettiest flat pumps I have ever seen in my LIFE!

I was sure that I would be wearing Converse under my dress for the reception as there's no way I can cope in heels all day. I already have quite a few pairs of Converse, but I really wanted a pair of white glitter ones to match the white sequin detail of my dress. Can I find any to match the image I've conjured in my head? Nope!

Then I found a picture of some white sparkly Keds from their collaboration with Kate Spade and fell head over pumps! But as with everything, there was a downside... They're only available for shipping in the US in that colour and obvs I don't live there! Cue a pleading Facebook post to anyone and everyone who will be visiting the US anytime soon to help a girl out in the search for perfect shoes!

Fortunately, I have distant family who live in Indiana who just so happen to be flying over to the UK this weekend!!! How lucky is that?! So, we've been chatting over Facebook this morning and she's managed to order them for me! There was also a 20% off code on the website which means I've managed to get free express shipping included in the price of the shoes!

Wanna see them? Of course you do!

    image

So pretty ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ I can't wait to go and pick them up! Now, how do I convince Dad to buy me some expensive shoes for the ceremony ๐Ÿ˜œ

Ahh, MrsSpag! Thank you for reading! I was only thinking about your thread and how you were getting on the other day and as if by magic, you re-appeared!

Glad to find a fellow Disney fan - I do sometimes wonder if I'm going a bit overboard on the whole Disney thing, but hey, that's me! I am OBSESSED with the shoes and can't stop looking at pics of them now. Who cares if people don't see them under my dress, I'll totally wear them after anyway!

Oh these are AMAZING!!!!!! Yes, totally worth that many exclamation marks!

So pleased to read your dress is sorted...and you can't go wrong with sparkly Keds. I'd be wearing those all the time! x

  • MrsBAMFMrsBAMF Posts: 217 New bride

    Thanks Lubes!

I may have told my dad that I promise not to wear the Keds until the wedding... I'll see how long I can manage before they inevitably make their pre-wedding day debut! Wearing them around the house doesn't count, right?

    Shoes part 2!

And here's something else I didn't think I'd get done so quickly! This wedding malarkey seems to be bringing out a  decisive side that I never knew I had!

As you may be able to tell, shoes are one of my favourite things in life - Mr BAMF keeps telling me I have too many, but what does he know?! I've been poring over Emmy London, Jimmy Choo, Louboutin and all the other beautiful (expensive) shoes pretty much since we got engaged, but over the last few weeks I've been thinking that they might just be a pipe dream.

Now, I can't walk in heels at the best of times - when I go to parties, I try to take flats with me so that I can still dance the night away without my feet being cut to ribbons or twisting my ankle. I also couldn't help thinking that even if I did have a pricey pair of shoes, chances are I'd be too scared to wear them outside the house ever again, so they'd just turn into ornaments!

Anyway, when I was at work the other day, I felt like I needed a bit of height so I stuck on a pair of M&S court shoes that I keep under my desk "just in case" and I'd forgotten just how comfy they were! I can walk around in them all day and I don't look like Bambi when I do! So I decided to have a quick look on the M&S website to see if they had anything suitable to match my Princess dress.

They had 2 pairs - the first was exactly like my work shoes, just in cream satin, but I wanted a bit of sparkle because that's just who I am! The second pair though... When I saw them, something clicked. Long before I'd even got engaged, I'd seen a few pairs of satin peep toe shoes with diamantés scattered on them and decided that these would be the perfect shoes for when I tied the knot. The ones in M&S fitted this idea exactly AND they were only £45.

    image

    image

I know I'll be able to walk in them as they're the same height and size as my work ones! I've been to pick them up today and they came in the prettiest blush pink coloured dust bag (momentarily making me panic thinking the shoes inside would be the same colour!), I'm very impressed!

As it stands, all that's left for me is to get my underwear and jewellery and I'm done! I've never been this organised in my LIFE!

In love with your STD and Keds too :)

Edit: Meant Save The Dates by STD - not the alternative haha! Not the prettiest abbreviation!

    A year ago today...

Today marks mine and Mr BAMF's engagement-versary! I can't believe it's a whole year since I was stood in front of Sleeping Beauty's castle, asking "Are you for real?! Are you joking?!" and crying like a baby! ๐Ÿ˜‚

While it's a day I know I'll never forget, I certainly didn't think it would be a day we'd be celebrating a year later! Mr BAMF has been very sneaky over the last few weeks, and I've just found out why!

    image

I'm not sure why it's sideways, but he's framed some of our favourite photos from our California trip so that we can put them up when we've finished decorating the landing  ๐Ÿ˜

I know many of you will contest this, but I reckon he's the best fiancé in the world right now! I got all emosh, how thoughtful is he?!

On a side note, I got him bugger all ๐Ÿ˜ฌ Although I bought him a cupcake at the weekend - he says that's a nice enough surprise for him! Haha!

Aww just read through your thread - all sounds amazing! I do love Disney (who doesn't) and think the theme running through the whole thing is just gorgeous and will be so much fun, there are endless imaginative things you can do with Disney theming so I can't wait to see more! Your fiancé sounds very thoughtful bless him. Love the dress - my best friend got married in a big ball gown with lots of bling and it was lush, made such a nice change too as I feel like all you see nowadays is mermaid / fit and flare (nothing against them at all mind), and everyone commented on how lovely a real "princess" dress was! And yours is officially a princess! I bet its unreal in the flesh with all those sparkles!!

  • MrsBAMFMrsBAMF Posts: 217 New bride

    Thank you Ashley!

I had visions of a mermaid dress in my head to be honest, I work hard to keep my curves in check so I wanted to show them off! But, I found my perfect princess dress so I'm a happy girl!

The sparkles are just amazing! I love glitter at the best of times, but the dress takes it to the next level! I'm praying for sun on the big day so I can twirl around and everyone can watch me sparkling haha!

    Hi ladies,

I'm currently on holiday in Ibiza for 2 weeks, but I need to share this before I forget due to holiday mode being activated!

About a week or so ago, I entered a competition on Facebook with a local MUA to win on the day makeup for myself and up to 4 bridesmaids. I looked at her photos and thought "Why not?!" and planned to contact her regardless of whether I won or not as the makeup looks lovely, she comes highly recommended and the prices weren't bad at all!

I'd used my mobile data allowance, so couldn't check Facebook from when I left home yesterday until we arrived at the hotel and got on the wifi, so imagine my shock when I managed to log on and see that I'D WON THE COMPETITION!!!

Now, I never win anything, so to win this is bloody epic for me! I am now going to enter every wedding-related competition I find to see where it gets me! I'm so chuffed, still can't believe it! Anyway, must go - the all inclusive buffet is calling me, and I never miss a meal ๐Ÿ˜‚ have a lovely Sunday everyone!

    So, I'm back from Ibiza!

We had an amazing time, and I was genuinely gutted to come home this morning! I am now having serious Fanta Lemon withdrawals (back on the Slimming World wagon in the morning and couldn't find the diet version in Asda ๐Ÿ˜ค) and dreading my tan fading! I genuinely think it's the best tan I've ever had, look!

    image

While we were away, Mr BAMF took it upon himself to start writing his speech while we were chilling by the pool. I'm a bit concerned he's doing it so early, but who am I to stop him? I've been very good and I haven't sneaked a peek of it, but he's told me that it will make me cry!

    Trying the dress on again!

Well, seeing as my tiara and veil are in the shop, it'd be rude not to go back and try everything on again! Especially as I have both pairs of shoes now too ๐Ÿ˜‰

This time though, I made sure I got pictures!

    image

    image

    image

I am so so so in love with this dress! The shoes are a perfect match, I can sit down in the dress and change my shoes, tie my laces and everything! I tried it with a hoop this time and it just gave it that extra "something".

I even curled my hair and did my makeup! Proper made an effort. There were tears from Mum - I finally cracked her ๐Ÿ˜‰ She reckons my dad will definitely cry and I've already told Mr BAMF that if there are no tears from him, I'll stop walking down the aisle until there are ๐Ÿ˜‚ The girls in the shop think I'm bonkers (they're right as well)! Once again, I didn't want to take it off - I'm gonna be like that woman in the McDonald's advert after the wedding, going to work in my dress haha!

    xXx

  • Oh Wow, that dress is beautiful and it fits you perfectly. I love the top and the sparkles in the skirt x
